Clive Myrie is one of the BBC’s most experienced foreign affairs correspondents, and is now an anchor/presenter based in London.
He’s had a long and distinguished career spanning almost 30 years, and has served as the BBCs Africa, Asia, Washington and Europe Correspondent.
He’s covered several armed conflicts including the wars in the former Yugloslavia, East Timor, Liberia and the Palestine/Israeli conflict. He was also a prominent member of the BBC’s reporting/presenting team for the conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq. He’s covered the administrations of 3 US Presidents, and reported on six US Presidential elections, including most recently, anchoring coverage of the victory of Donald Trump. He also co-anchored from Johannesburg, the funeral of Nelson Mandela.
Clive’s numerous awards include a Screen Nations Award, an MVSA Award and a Golden Nymph Award from the Monte Carlo Television Festival. He’s been nominated twice for the Bayeaux War Correspondents Award, twice for an EMMA Award, and in 2016 was nominated for an EMMY from America’s National Academy for Television, Arts and Sciences, for his coverage of the earthquake in Nepal. He’s also been nominated for a BAFTA Award from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, for coverage of the Mozambique floods in 2000.
Clive has an Honorary Doctorate from Staffordshire University, and has won a prestigious national mentoring award. He’s a passionate Manchester City fan ( but don’t hold that against him,) and a lover of opera. He’s also a patron of the charity Build Africa.
